Emergency health response in Badakhshan and Nooristan provinces

YHDO is implementing emergency health and nutrition response project in Badakhshan and Nooristan provinces. The project is designed target five categories of drought-related effects: 1) general health problems 2) water-related disease 3) airborne and dust-related disease and 4) vector-borne disease and 5) malnutrition. The project is funded thourhg Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF) for duration of six months.  The activities listed below are included in the project

  • Establishment of 5 sub health centers in white areas of the 2 provinces

 

  • Enabling referral system through 8 ambulances (5 cars in white areas and 3 for existing BHCs)

 

  • Support to 3 existing BHCs (2 in Badakhshan and 1 in Nooristan)

 

  • Support to 4 existing CHCs (3 in Badakhshan and 1 in Nooristan)

 

  • Community outreach detection of SAM and MAM cases in children under 5 and PLWs

 

  • Outpatient treatment of severe and acute malnutrition in children under 5 and PLWs
