OUR History
Youth Health and Development Organization (YHDO) is a nationally trusted, high-performing humanitarian and development partner delivering integrated, life-saving and resilience-building services across Afghanistan. Established in 2009, YHDO combines deep field access, strong technical expertise, and proven compliance systems to operate effectively in complex, high-risk, and hard-to-reach environments.
With operational presence in 24 provinces and over 800 staff, YHDO has successfully implemented more than 80 projects in partnership with UN agencies and international donors. The organization specializes in health, protection, and livelihoods programming, with strength in HIV, TB prevention, emergency and trauma care response, child protection and human right, and services for vulnerable and marginalized populations including women, children, returnees, and internally displaced persons

To empower Afghan youth through education, advocacy, health services, and vocational skills training, enabling them to actively participate in social and economic development. We are committed to creating inclusive environments where young people can access opportunities, understand their rights, improve their health, and develop skills. We strive to ensure their voices are heard and acted upon, contributing to a peaceful and equitable society.

YHDO is a non-governmental and not for-profit organization established in Afghanistan in 2009 registered with Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Public Health, Deputy Ministry of Youth Afire . YHDO's primary focus is to offer a range of services to Afghan youth and other marginalized groups in the wider society.
