Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation, especially of People Use Drug.
YHDO with financial support from UNODC implements STFA project since Feb 2022, to improve quality of life, health, and livelihoods of people at risk or affected by drug use disorder. Through Increasing access of drug users to evidence-based drug prevention and establishment and support of Drop in centers.
Projects Activites and Services.
1.Support to 5 DTCs: Providing of technical, financial, and logistic support through covering 70% of staff salaries and full running costs for Gardiz 30-bed , Ghazni 50-bed, Jaghori 20-bed male and Logar 30-bed male DTCs
2.Establishment and management of a New 20 bed female DTC in Ghazni
3.Full support for 2 DICs, Ghazni and Logar DIC 4.Establishment of four outreach teams in the southeast region.

Global Action to Prevent and Address Trafficking in Persons and Migrant Smuggling (GLO.ACT), Asia and Middle East.
To improve the health, wellbeing, and livelihoods of vulnerable groups affected by drug use, human trafficking, and migrant smuggling, YHDO is implementing the GLO.ACT project in Kandahar. The project, funded by GLO.ACT, also builds the capacity of medical staff and others to identify and refer victims of trafficking and smuggling. Activities 1.Awareness on drug use, TiP and SOM prevention 2.Provision of counselling session
3.Provision of basic social services
4.Recovery and social reintegration
5.Provide voluntary confidential counselling and testing (VCCT).
6.Establish the systematic referral system
7.Provision of primary health care services

Operational Support to Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) Centers in Afghanistan
YHDO, with the financial support of the UNODC, established two centers in Nimroz and Herat Provinces to provide Opioid substitution therapy for drug users, The overall goal of the project is to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations through increasing access to integrated, qualitative, and comprehensive Drug Use and Drug Use Disorders Treatment services Services /Activities 1.Establishment, operation and management of centers 2.Outreach, identification, motivation and referal of PWUD 3.Provision of IPD, OPD, Lab , STI and social services 4. Daily distribution of Methadone , tappering , drug free 5.Follow up and integration.
