Access to Justice

In Afghanistan, access to lawyers and the court system, including making the decision to seek a legal remedy, is often difficult. This is only compounded for those populations who are stigmatized and discriminated against due to their HIV status, whether actual or perceived. Addressing the HIV epidemic requires not only a health sector approach through prevention and treatment services, but also through protecting and promoting the human rights of people living with or affected by HIV.
